Tissue and Hygiene in Mexico

Tissue and hygiene observed strong volume and value growth during 2012, driven mainly by Mexico’s positive economic performance. This allowed consumers to increase their spending, encouraging demand for tissue and hygiene in larger packaging formats. Many tissue and hygiene products are items of basic necessity and the quality of the products chosen by consumers depends on their disposable income levels and the perception of the benefits of specific products.


Tissue and Hygiene in Finland

Tissue and hygiene recorded moderate value growth in 2012. Although several value-added products entered the area, growth was undermined by high price competition between leading brands. Retail tissue underperformed in terms of growth while retail hygiene recorded better than average growth. Retail tissue growth was limited by slower growth within the largest area, toilet paper, while other areas recorded a better performance. Within hygiene, the best growing areas were wipes and incontinence.
