As well as dominating overall Food sales in India, Convenience Stores distributed a value share of 59% of Ice Cream sales in 2012. This was 38% more than the next leading distribution channel, Food & Drinks Specialists, which accounted for a 21% share. Hypermarkets & Supermarkets have a higher share of Take-Home Ice Cream, than of Impulse Ice Cream. This is likely to increase over upcoming years as the number of Hypermarkets & Supermarkets is forecast to grow, as is consumer demand for Take-Home Ice Cream.
