total size of the Lebanese
IT market in 2013 is forecast by BMI at US$364mn, up from US$337mn in 2011.
BMI expects a market CAGR of 12% for 2013-2017. Lebanon’s IT spending is forecast
to record single-digit growth in 2013, slower than previously forecast, as the
market feels the impact of regional economic and political uncertainty.
Lebanon’s IT market is set to benefit from initiatives to develop a digital
southern Mediterranean region and from new investment in telecoms infrastructure
aimed at significantly scaling up the country’s inadequate broadband
facilities.

Saudi
IT spending is expected to reach US$4.2bn in 2013, up 3% in US dollar terms
year-onyear, with BMI downwardly revising its forecast after the PC market
slowed in H112. However, there were major IT projects by organisations
including telecoms company Mobily and the justice department of the government.
Saudi Arabia has the biggest IT market in the Gulf region and the kingdom will
continue to be a lucrative market for technology products and services over the
forecast period as it invests to upgrade its IT and communications
infrastructure. The country’s relative political stability for the region will
also attract vendors.
